Another one month milestone

Not only was yesterday Natalie's one month birthday, but it also marked the first night that we used a car ride as a sleep tool!

She had not really slept all day or the previous night, and by 11:00 PM last night she showed no signs of sleeping again. We all needed sleep at some point, so we loaded her up in the car and Natalie and I hit the road. Her mom crashed into bed and got started on some much needed rest.

Natalie screamed for the first 10 minutes or so of the drive, but she was soon soothed by the nice bumpy San Francisco roads and the sounds of some classic country music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Hank Williams Jr., Dwight Yoakam, Alabama, Mark Chestnutt, George Strait and the occasional Eagles song proved to be just what she needed. She fell asleep somewhere along the Great Highway running next to the Pacific Ocean and I headed home.

The transfer from car to house went smoothly and she ended up sleeping for a total of almost six hours! After a 5:00 AM feeding, she then slept for another 2+ hours. So now everyone in the house is refreshed after a good night's sleep.

Yee Haw!
