Why's that baby crying?

The answer to that vexing question in a moment, but first...

It was an excellent Father's Day 2013:  pancakes for breakfast, some early morning art from our resident artist, a trip to the beach and a meat bonanza to round out the day.  Read on for a few more details.

Our beach excursion took place down in Pacifica.  We walked a bit, had a nice picnic (or pic-wik, as some call it) that was topped off with cookies and then a little beach time.  While on the beach, it was requested that Natalie and Daddy take a picture together.  Someone got a bit grumpy about it, and wound up rolling around in the sand.  Daddy settled for a picture that at least included both of them (though a hand went missing)...

One other thing to note in that image: Natalie picked out the nice pink shirt that Daddy was wearing and in fact the whole family was wearing pink for the day.

Natalie continued frolicking in the sand for a while and then it was time to head home.  Once home, Natalie hopped into her parent's bed and then proceeded to complain about all of the sand in the bed.  I wonder who put it there?

After everyone rested up a bit, it was time to head out to dinner which was to be an adventure.  Dinner was at Baby Blues BBQ in the Mission.  It's related to our favorite BBQ place down in Venice, and we've been wanting to check it out since they opened way back in 2009.  Anyway, to get to the restaurant we took BART from Daly City. All went well and everyone ate lots of yummy BBQ.  On the way back, there was a crying baby on the train with us, which prompted the following exchange:

Mommy: "Why's that baby crying?"
Natalie: "That baby's crying because she doesn't like her daddy and she wants her mommy."

 Everyone had a good laugh.
